Suggestions for Budget Decks for Singapore Open?

Posted by 4 months ago

Hey everyone! The Singapore Open is coming up soon, and I wanna build a competitive deck without breaking the bank lah. Got around SGD 150 budget, can anyone suggest some good budget-friendly archetypes or cards? I usually play at Games Haven and Grey Ogre Games, so maybe something that works well in our local meta? Thanks in advance!

Yo bro, if you looking for budget options, how about trying Mono-Red Burn? Cards like Lightning Bolt and Shock are still cheap, can get them even at SGD 1 each at Flagship Games. Plus, it’s fast and can catch your opponents off-guard during tournaments. Best part is, it can also be good against control decks in the SEA meta, especially with all the tap lands. Heard from my playgroup that it’s quite effective!

Eh, don't forget about budget blue control! Cards like Cancel and Essence Scatter are super cheap, can get a nice set for less than SGD 10. Then you can add some budget creatures like Delver of Secrets and Snapcaster Mage if you can find them cheap. Just make sure to keep the mana curve low. I’ve been testing it in our local game nights at Games Haven, and it’s been performing well, especially against aggro decks. Good luck for the Singapore Open, bro!

Kudos for going budget, my friend! You can try Golgari Midrange too, lots of cheap options like Llanowar Elves and Putrefy. Just build around some solid value creatures like Scavenging Ooze. Definitely check out Grey Ogre Games for any promos or discounted singles, they always got some good deals. With the humidity here, don’t forget to bring a fan for those long matches at the Open, okay?

Hey there! Great to see you're diving into budget brewing for the Singapore Open! I highly recommend looking into Mono-Red Aggro. It's super aggressive and you can build a solid deck with cards like Goblin Guide and Lightning Strike, which are often quite affordable. Plus, with the local meta being a bit aggro-heavy, you'll have a good chance to outrun them. Check out Games Haven for some singles; they usually have good deals on commons and uncommons. And don’t forget, it can get really hot during the event, so stay hydrated and maybe bring a fan, yeah? All the best, and may your draws be fire!

Hey there! It's awesome that you're getting into budget brewing for the Singapore Open! With your SGD 150 budget, I suggest looking into a Selesnya Tokens deck. You can use cards like Selesnya Guildgate and Adanto Vanguard, which are quite budget-friendly. Plus, you can generate a lot of value with cheap token producers like Llanowar Elves and Tendershoot Dryad. Games Haven usually has some good deals on these cards, and the vibe there is always welcoming. Also, since the weather can be quite warm, don't forget to wear something light and maybe pack some snacks to keep your energy up during those long rounds. Good luck, and may your draws be plentiful! Let's hope to see you at the event!
