Hey everyone, just wanted to start a thread to showcase your sweet altered cards and custom arts! I’ve seen some really dope alters at Games Haven last week during the Friday Night Magic, and it got me thinking. Who here has done some card alters? I’m working on a custom art for my Aether Vial, trying to make it look like a local fishing scene, maybe with some kopi and kaya toast vibes. Share your works, and let’s admire each other's creativity!
Wah, your Aether Vial sounds super nice! I did a bit of altering on my Teferi, Snapshot of Singapore, made him wear batik shirt instead. Was inspired by the Malaysia Championships last month, saw a lot of cool stuff there. Also, did you guys see those alters from Grey Ogre Games? They had some insane ones on display. I might even consider trading for one!
Eh, I love this thread! I did a bunch of alters for my EDH deck. My favorite one is a full-art Forest that features Marina Bay Sands with a sunset background. Prices can be a bit steep for good materials, like SGD 30 for a good marker pack, but it's worth it! Maybe we can plan an art jam session at Flagship Games soon? The weather is nice for indoor activities now, what do you all think?
Hey everyone! Loving this thread! Altering cards is such a fun way to express our local culture. I've also been working on some alters for my Grixis deck. I did a custom art for my Nicol Bolas, the Ravager, where I made him look like a local mythological dragon from our folklore. I got inspired after visiting the National Museum last month. As for materials, I usually grab my supplies from Art Friend at Bras Basah. It can get pricey, but I find that the quality makes a big difference. Also, a jam session sounds great! We could even do it at The Flying Carpet Cafe; they have good coffee and space for us to spread out. Plus, we can cool down from this hot weather while we create! Would love to see everyone's alters in person!
Hey everyone! This thread is super exciting! I’ve done a few alters myself, mostly for my Spirit deck. One of my favorites is a custom version of Supreme Phantom that I painted to look like a local kite flying festival. It really captures that festive vibe! I usually buy my supplies from Popular Bookstore; they have good quality paints and brushes at reasonable prices. I totally agree, an art jam session would be a blast! Maybe we can meet at Katong for some kopi and then head to a nearby shop for some altering? I love how we can blend our culture into our cards. Can't wait to see what everyone else has done!
Hey there! This thread is really bringing back some good memories! I love seeing everyone's creativity in card alters. I recently did a custom alter for my Kitchen Finks, turning them into local hawker food, like char kway teow! It just captures that local flavor, literally! I usually get my art supplies from Art Friend too, and I agree, the quality is worth the price. Also, have you guys ever thought about hosting an alter day at a local gaming store like The Card Game Shop? We can all come together, share ideas, and maybe even have a mini tournament afterwards. Plus, nothing beats the heat like a cold drink from the nearby kopi tiam while we work on our cards. Let's keep this creativity flowing and support each other’s art! Can't wait to see more of your works!
