Show Us Your Best Alters!

Hey fellow Planeswalkers! I’ve been super inspired by all the amazing alterations I’ve seen recently at Games Haven and Grey Ogre Games. Let’s share our own altered cards and custom arts here! Whether it’s your unique version of a classic card or a full-on art overhaul, I wanna see it! Also, any tips on where to get art supplies locally? I heard that Flagship Games has some good stuff. Can’t wait to see what you all have created!

Wah, I just finished altering my Lightning Bolt with some cool graffiti style! Used markers and a bit of acrylic. You guys should check out the art supplies at Popular Bookstore lah, they have everything for cheap! Hope to bring it to the Singapore Open next month and show it off, maybe win some prizes too!

Nice one! I did a custom alt for my Eldrazi with some local themes. Instead of the usual cosmic vibe, I made it look like it’s from a kampung setting with palm trees and all! Can’t wait to play it during our Malaysia Championships. Also, anyone know if we can bring altered cards for competitive play? Like, how strict are they?

That sounds like a great idea! I think as long as the alterations are recognizable, it should be okay. I saw some people using altered cards at the Indonesia Open last year, and the judges were chill about it. Just don’t go too overboard until it’s unrecognizable lah! Also, if you’re looking for inspiration, check out our local Facebook group, a lot of talented artists there sharing their work!

Hey there! I'm loving this thread! I've been working on a couple of alters myself, one for my favorite planeswalker, Liliana. I transformed her into a local folklore character, and it turned out pretty cool! I did it while chilling at my favorite kopi tiam, and it definitely added to the vibe. As for art supplies, I usually hit up Popular Bookstore for some decent markers and acrylic paints. They have a good range that's not too pricey. Also, I heard that there's a Magic event at Game On this weekend, and I might bring my altered cards to show off! Can't wait to see everyone's creations! Let's keep the inspiration flowing, yeah?
