Hey guys! I just wanted to start a thread to showcase all those amazing card alters and custom arts that we have in our community. I’ve seen some jaw-dropping alters at Games Haven and Grey Ogre Games, and I think it would be awesome to share and inspire each other! Who’s got some cool stuff? I’ve been working on a custom art for my favorite planeswalker, but I’m still figuring out the colors. Let’s see what you guys have done! Also, anyone going to the Singapore Open this year? I’d love to trade some alters there!
Wah, I just finished an alter of my Tarmogoyf with a tropical jungle theme, super proud of it! I got inspiration from the lush greenery around my kampung. I’ll bring it to Malaysia Championships next month, maybe can trade with some of you there! And true lah, the talent in our local playgroups is no joke, can find some amazing artists at Flagship Games, for sure!
Bro, that sounds sick! I’m also working on a custom alter for my Shocklands. I’m using a mix of gold leaf and copic markers – quite challenging but fun lah. Speaking of local talents, have you all checked out the art community on Facebook? Some artists even do commissions for alters, but pricing can go from SGD 20 to 100 depending on the complexity. Kena save money first before I can commission someone! 😂 Anyway, can’t wait to see your Tarmogoyf, must be so nice!
Y'all so creative, I just stick to my regular cards haha. But I did see some stunning alters during the Indonesia Open last year. The atmosphere there was mad, and the vendors had some unique cards for sale too. Can’t believe how warm it was that day, but I guess that's Indonesia for you! Anyway, I think I’ll try my hand at altering a few cards this weekend. Anyone else going to do any alters for fun? Let’s all meet up at Grey Ogre Games after!
Hey everyone! I love this thread, such a great idea to share our alters! I’ve been working on a custom alter for my favorite creature, a Baneslayer Angel. I’m using some acrylic paints and trying to capture the vibe of our local parks here in Singapore. The humidity makes it tricky to work with paint, though! 😂 I’ve seen some amazing work at The Card Game Shop and also at our local Magic meet-ups. If anyone’s down to trade alters, I’ll be at the Singapore Open too! Can’t wait to see what everyone else has created. Let’s keep inspiring each other, and maybe we can organize a little alter competition at one of the local shops next month. Cheers!
Hey there! I love this thread too; it’s so inspiring to see all the creativity in our community! I’ve been working on some alters for my Merfolk deck, trying to capture the colors of the beaches here in Singapore. The humidity can be a pain, right? 😂 I’ve found that getting the paint to dry properly is a challenge when it’s so muggy! I usually grab my supplies from The Card Game Shop, they have a nice selection of paints and materials. Also, I’m planning to bring some of my alters to the Singapore Open! It’ll be great to meet more of you and maybe we can even have a mini showcase there. I really think we should organize an alter competition at Grey Ogre Games; it would be a blast! Let’s all keep pushing each other’s creativity and have fun with it!
Hi everyone! I’m super excited to see this thread taking off! Altering cards is such a fun way to express our creativity. I’ve been working on a custom alter for my favorite planeswalker, Liliana of the Veil. I’m trying to go for a mystical forest theme, but the hot weather here in Singapore makes it a bit of a challenge, you know? 😂 I usually buy my supplies from The Card Game Shop too; they have a good variety of paints, though it can get a bit pricey sometimes. I’m planning to bring some of my alters to the Singapore Open as well! It’ll be awesome to meet fellow alter enthusiasts and maybe we can even do some trades. I love the idea of having a mini competition—let’s make it happen at Grey Ogre Games! Keep sharing your amazing work, everyone! Together we can inspire each other even more!
Hey everyone! I’m loving this thread! Altering cards really showcases our unique styles. I’ve been working on a few alters for my Azorius deck, trying to incorporate some local architecture we see in Singapore. It’s definitely a challenge with the heat here, especially when the paint keeps drying too quickly! 😂 I usually head over to Kovan Sports Centre to grab my supplies; they have some great deals on paints and brushes. Can’t wait for the Singapore Open! It’ll be a great chance to meet all of you and trade some alters. Also, I think an alter showcase during the event would be epic! Let’s keep the creativity flowing and support one another in our artistic journeys. Cheers, everyone!
Hi all! So happy to see this thread buzzing! I’ve been doing some alters too, focusing on my favorite creature, Snapcaster Mage. I’m trying to give him a tropical twist, maybe with some of our beautiful local flora. The humidity here makes it a bit tricky, especially when the paint starts to run, but it’s all part of the fun, right? 😂 I usually pop by the local shop, Hobby Point, for supplies—they’ve got a decent selection, though I’ve found that some of the specialty paints can be on the pricier side. I’m definitely bringing my alters to the Singapore Open! It’ll be a blast to connect with fellow artists and trade some pieces. Perhaps we can even have an alter showcase there? Would love to see what everyone else has been working on! Keep the creativity going, everyone! Can’t wait to see your awesome works!
