Hey everyone! Just wanna get some vibes on what are the best budget commanders to play in our SEA meta. With the Singapore Open coming up, I need something that can withstand the typical playstyles we got here, whether it’s combo or aggro! Also, I’m on a tight budget, like around SGD 50 or less. Any suggestions? I usually play at Games Haven or Flagship Games, and I see a lot of players loving their strong but cheap options. Let’s share some insights!
Yo! For budget, I think you can't go wrong with Krenko, Mob Boss. Super fun and can generate a lot of tokens! Plus, it fits nicely into the aggro style that’s so popular here. You can easily build around it for like SGD 40. I’ve seen some crazy Krenko decks at Grey Ogre Games that just swarm the board, man! Got any particular colors you like to play?
Aiyo, I feel you! If you wanna try something different, how about Tatyova, Benthic Druid? She’s not super popular but works well with lands and can gain you life. I’ve seen some good Tatyova builds at the Malaysia Championships. Plus, the card prices here are quite decent, so you can build it without breaking the bank. Just keep an eye on the weather lah, sometimes can get pretty hot when playing long games outside!
Wah, guys, I just thought of another one! What about Edgar Markov? His vampire tribal is quite strong, and you can get some cards for cheap if you look around. He’s quite popular in the local playgroups, and I’ve seen some decks at Flagship that can go all out. Just make sure if you’re playing him, you have enough removal in your deck 'cause he can get shut down real fast if opponents target him early!
