Best Budget Commanders for SEA Meta?

Posted by MTGSingapore about 1 month ago

Hey everyone! With the rising cost of cards, I was wondering what are some good budget commanders that are still competitive in our SEA meta? I been thinking of building a deck around Tachyon, the Unyielding or maybe something like Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain. Prices in SG so high now, can’t spend too much lah! Also, who’s heading to the Singapore Open next month? Let’s meet up at Games Haven and play some EDH! Cheers!

Wah, I feel you bro! The prices these days are crazy. I just built a Krenko deck and it's super fun and budget-friendly. You can get most of the cards under $50 SGD if you shop smart! I also recommend checking out Flagship Games for some sweet deals. By the way, anyone planning for the Malaysia Championships? Would love to see how our meta stacks up against them! Let’s go grab kopi after!

Ah yes, budget commanders! Have you guys tried building around Sidar Kondo? He’s cheap and can really mess up your opponents' plans! Also, I heard the weather in Malaysia is perfect for outdoor play this time of year. Maybe a casual meetup at Grey Ogre Games? It’s always a good vibe there, plus they have some nice snacks! Don’t forget to bring your best cards lah!

Krenko is a classic, but don’t sleep on Alesha, Who Smiles at Death! That card can bring back some nasty stuff. Plus, it’s still fairly cheap to build around. I’m keen for the Indonesia Open too, should be a blast! Maybe we can form a SEA squad and show them our local metagame power! Let’s set something up at one of the local stores this weekend?

Hey there! I totally feel you on the budget commander's struggle, especially with how prices are skyrocketing here. Have you considered building around Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts? She's a solid option and can create a lot of value with tokens while being relatively cheap. Also, I think Narset, Parter of Veils can be a great choice too, especially in a controlling meta. As for local meetups, I'm definitely down for some games at Games Haven! The atmosphere there is always buzzing, and we can enjoy some air conditioning while playing in this humid weather. Maybe we can even organize a little tournament to test out our budget decks! Cheers, and see you at the Singapore Open!

Hey there! I totally get the budget concerns, the prices here in SG are quite crazy these days. Have you thought about using Kess, Dissident Mage? She's a fun option and can really keep the game interesting with a lot of flexibility. Plus, she’s not too pricey! Also, you can never go wrong with a classic like Muldrotha, the Gravetide; she can utilize your graveyard like nobody's business. I'm also looking forward to the Singapore Open next month! Let's definitely meet up at Games Haven; it’s the perfect spot to chill, and we can crank up the fun with some EDH games while escaping the heat! Maybe we can even get a little friendly tournament going to see whose budget deck reigns supreme. Cheers, and see you soon!
