Hey guys, just wanna know which LGS you all recommend for playing Magic in Singapore? I've been going to Games Haven lately, but heard mixed reviews about their space. Is it worth it or should I try Grey Ogre Games or Flagship Games? Also, any tips on upcoming events like the Singapore Open? Looking to get more involved in the community lor! Also, how's the meta looking these days, is aggro still king or are control decks making a comeback? Let’s discuss!
Yo! I think you should definitely check out Grey Ogre Games. They got a nice vibe and the people there are super friendly. Plus, they run a lot of events, perfect for testing new decks. Last week, I joined a Standard event and the meta was pretty diverse, lots of midrange and control decks popping up! And don’t forget, the Singapore Open is coming soon, need to prepare ah! Games Haven can be a bit cramped sometimes, but if you’re looking for casual play, they’re not bad also.
Eh bro, I feel you! Flagship Games has a nice setup and usually has more space than Games Haven. Plus, they regularly have tournaments that attract quite a crowd. I went to the Malaysia Championships last month, and a lot of players there were from Flagship. Really good competition! Weather can be a bit hot and humid sometimes, so I usually bring a water bottle when I go for events. Keep hydrated while playing, very important lah!
Hey hey! I’ve been frequenting both Grey Ogre Games and Games Haven, both have their strengths lah. Grey Ogre has a better community vibe while Games Haven is more established. For the meta, I also notice that control decks are gaining popularity, especially with the new set that just dropped! Planning to join the next Indonesia Open, maybe we can carpool or something? It’s always more fun with friends, right? Huat ah!
Hey there! I totally get your struggle with finding the right LGS in Singapore. I've been to both Grey Ogre Games and Flagship Games quite a bit, and I can say they both have their perks. Flagship is great for competitive play, with tournaments happening almost weekly, and their space is quite comfy. On the other hand, Grey Ogre has a really chill atmosphere, perfect for casual games and meeting new friends. I usually pop by for their draft nights, and the community is super welcoming! As for the meta, I’ve noticed aggro is still quite strong, but control decks are definitely creeping back in, especially with the latest set introducing some powerful new cards. Also, keep an eye out for the Singapore Open – it's a fantastic opportunity to meet players from all over! Let’s keep supporting our local scene, and maybe we can catch up at one of these events! Cheers!
Hi there! I totally feel you on the LGS hunt. I've been playing at both Games Haven and Flagship Games quite a bit. Games Haven is a classic, but sometimes it can get a bit cramped during events, especially with the hot weather we have here! Flagship has a nice, spacious area and they host regular tournaments which are super competitive. I love the energy there! As for Grey Ogre Games, I hear they have a great casual scene and it's perfect for making new friends while playing. I think trying all three is a good idea to see what fits your vibe best!
Regarding the meta, I’ve been noticing more control decks coming into play, especially with the new cards from the recent set adding some spice to the game. Aggro is still strong, but I think players are adapting and finding ways to counter it.
Don't forget to check out the Singapore Open! It's a great way to meet players from all around and get involved in the community. Maybe we can even catch up there! Let's keep supporting our local shops and events. Huat ah!
Hey there! It's great to see fellow MTG players looking to get involved in the scene! I totally hear you on the LGS search. I've been to Grey Ogre Games a few times and I really like their laid-back vibe – it's perfect for casual games and you can meet a lot of friendly faces there. Flagship Games is where the competition is at; their tournaments are well-organized and the atmosphere is always buzzing! I know what you mean about the heat; sometimes it can get a bit much, but the excitement of the game makes it worth it! As for Games Haven, it’s iconic for sure, but yeah, it can feel cramped during peak times. I think trying out all three is a good plan, maybe even join some of their events to see which community vibes with you the most! Regarding the meta, aggro is still quite dominant, but I’ve been seeing more innovative control decks popping up, especially with the recent set's new additions. Definitely keep an eye on the Singapore Open – it's a fantastic chance to connect with players from all over and improve your game! Let’s keep supporting our local shops and maybe we can catch up at one of the events! Huat ah!
Hey there! So cool to see more people getting into MTG here in Singapore! I've checked out all three stores you mentioned. Games Haven is definitely a staple, but yeah, it can get a bit hot and crowded during events. Flagship Games is where I usually go for serious play; their tournaments are well-organized and the community is super welcoming! I love how everyone is so passionate there. Grey Ogre Games is nice for a chill vibe, perfect for casual games with friends. You can find a good mix of players there too!
For the upcoming Singapore Open, it's a fantastic opportunity to meet a lot of players and maybe even get some cool prizes! I’d suggest joining their events to feel the atmosphere and meet new friends.
As for the meta, I’ve been seeing more control decks gaining traction lately, especially with new cards that can really shift the game. Aggro is still strong, but players are definitely finding ways to counter it. Let’s keep supporting our local scene and maybe we can catch up at one of the events! Huat ah!
Hey bro! Great to see the MTG community in Singapore growing! I've tried out all the stores you mentioned. Grey Ogre Games has a nice, relaxed atmosphere, perfect if you just wanna hang out and play some casual games. I met some really nice people there too! Flagship Games is the place to be if you're looking for more competitive vibes; their tournaments are top-notch and the community is really passionate. As for the Singapore Open, don’t miss it! It’s such a good chance to meet players from all over and maybe snag some cool prizes. About the meta, I feel like aggro is still strong, but control decks are definitely making a comeback with some new strategies. So, it’s a good time to try out different decks!
