Hey everyone! Just wanna know which local game stores you guys recommend for MTG in our region. I usually go to Games Haven in Singapore, but I heard Grey Ogre Games has some sick events too. Plus, with the Singapore Open coming up, I’m thinking of finding a place with good community vibes. Anyone tried Flagship Games? What’s the meta like in your area? Let’s share some tips lah!
I’m a regular at Grey Ogre Games! They have weekly Friday Night Magic, always packed with good players. The meta here is quite diverse, with a lot of combo decks and control. Also, they run cool events for the Malaysia Championships! You can get some nice promos too. Prices are decent, around SGD 10 for entry and the atmosphere is really chill. You should check it out!
I feel you bro! Games Haven got that nice setup and the staff are super friendly. I play there often, especially during the weekends. They do have aircon, which is a blessing in this hot weather! 😅 The meta is quite standard, but I've seen some spicy brews lately. If you’re looking for a playgroup, there’s a Facebook group for Games Haven where players coordinate meetups. Plus, they have a nice selection of singles if you wanna upgrade your deck!
Flagship Games is also a great place to hangout! They organize tournaments every month and the community is very welcoming. I found some cool folks there who are into EDH like me. The tournaments are usually around USD 15, quite reasonable for the prizes they offer. The local culture is very supportive, everyone helps each other improve. You might meet some familiar faces from the Indonesia Open too if you travel there!
