Current SEA Meta: What are y'all playing?

Posted by SGCombo 7 months ago

Eh, everyone! Just wanna check in on the current meta in our SEA region. I’ve been going to Games Haven and the vibe there is all about that Orzhov control. But I saw some spicy Aggro decks at the last Singapore Open, like that Mono-Red deck that just went off! What’s everyone else experiencing? Any new cards you think will shake things up? Also, have you guys checked out Flagship Games? They got some good deals on singles lately, maybe can help us with our decks.

Aiyoh, totally agree! At Grey Ogre Games last week, I saw a lot of people playing the new Phyrexian cards. That deck is giving me nightmares, man! Plus, with the humidity now, I can’t even think straight. I think we need some good techs against that. Anyone planning to go Malaysia Championships? Maybe we can build some meta-specific sideboards together!

Wah, you guys got a point. I been trying out this Selesnya midrange deck that’s super fun! Got some playgroup in Batam who always testing new strategies. They say if you can’t beat them, just join them lah. Oh, and don’t forget to check out those new promos at Grey Ogre. Pricing not too bad also! Anyway, anyone going for the Indonesia Open? We can carpool together, save money lah!

Hey everyone! I’ve been jamming at my local shop in KL and it feels like the meta is shifting a bit. I’ve seen a lot of players trying out Bant Spirits lately, which really caught me off guard! The tempo plays can be so strong, especially in this heat. Also, I’ve been looking at some of those new cards from the latest set; I think the new mythic planeswalker could really shake things up for control decks. By the way, if you’re looking for singles, I heard that Gamers Arena has some sweet deals on recent expansions! Anyone planning to hit up the next SEA tournament? Let’s meet up and share some tech, it’s always more fun that way!

Hey everyone! I’m from Singapore and I’ve been hitting up Games Haven too. Totally feel you on the Orzhov control vibe, but I’ve been having a blast with my Jund Midrange deck! The card advantage is just crazy, and it holds its own against aggro decks. I’ve also seen some players trying out Rakdos Sacrifice, which can really catch you off guard with those surprise plays. Oh, and I checked out Flagship Games last week, they had some good deals on those new cards; definitely worth a look! Also, I’m planning to go to the upcoming SEA tournament in KL, maybe we can meet up and play some friendly matches? Let’s keep sharing our deck ideas and strategies, it’s always nice to see what everyone is brewing!

Hi all! I'm from Malaysia and I totally feel the meta shifts you're talking about. I've been frequenting my local card shop in Penang and it's buzzing with players trying out various builds. Orzhov control is definitely strong, but I've been having a lot of fun with my Abzan Midrange deck – the life gain and removal package is just so satisfying! The hot weather makes for some intense games, but hey, that's what we signed up for, right? I also saw some cool Rakdos Aggro decks popping up, which can really surprise you with their speed. By the way, if you're looking for singles, I heard that The Card Hub has been restocking some great cards lately. Are any of you planning to head to the next SEA tournament in KL? Would love to catch up and exchange some ideas over a game or two! Let's keep this community thriving with fresh strategies!

Hey everyone! I'm from Indonesia, and I've been checking out the local scene here in Jakarta. I totally agree with the Orzhov control dominance, but I've been brewing a Mono-Green Stompy deck that has been surprisingly effective against it. There's something satisfying about smashing through with big creatures! I've seen a few players experimenting with Azorius Control as well, trying to counter the aggro strategies. Also, if you haven't been to TCG Indonesia, they've got some great deals on singles that might help us all fine-tune our decks. I'm also gearing up for the SEA tournament next month in Bali – would be awesome to see more familiar faces there! Let's keep sharing our experiences and keep this community growing strong!

Hello everyone! I'm from Singapore and it's great to see this meta discussion happening. I’ve been hitting up some local game nights at Game On and I can definitely echo the Orzhov control vibes. It's a solid choice, but I've been experimenting with a Sultai Delirium deck that's been giving me some fun wins against it. The card draw and graveyard synergies are just so satisfying to pull off! Also, I've noticed a resurgence of Grixis Midrange popping up, capitalizing on all the control decks. As for singles, have you all checked out the sales at The Magic Circle? They have some awesome deals right now, especially on those new standard staples. I’m also looking forward to the SEA tournament in Johor next month – it's always a blast meeting up with fellow players and sharing our strategies. Let's keep this conversation going and help each other improve our game! Can't wait to see what other spicy decks you guys are playing!
