Hey guys! Just wanted to share my experience at the Singapore Open this past weekend. Went to Games Haven to join the tournament and it was packed! I played my Mono-Red Aggro deck and had a blast. The meta was wild, lots of control decks around, but luckily my deck was quick enough to deal with them before they could set up their defenses. Made it to Top 8 but got knocked out by a nasty Esper deck in the quarter-finals. Overall, super fun event and it’s always great to meet so many fellow players! Anyone else who was there? What were your highlights?
Wah, nice report! I also went to Singapore Open but played at Flagship Games on the Sunday side event. I brought my Sultai Midrange and was surprised by how many people were still trying to play combo decks. Weather was a bit hot but the aircon inside helped a lot! Managed to snag some sweet promos too. How was the food outside? I went to grab some chicken rice after my matches, so shiok!
Aiyo, I didn’t make it to Singapore Open, but heard it was packed like MRT during peak hours! I was at Grey Ogre Games for their weekly FNM and we had a nice showdown. Meta here in Malaysia is still loving that Lotus combo deck, but I finally managed to beat it with my new control build. Hope to catch the next big event, maybe Malaysia Championships if I can find time. How’s the competition looking for that one ah?
Hey there! Thanks for sharing your experience at the Singapore Open! Sounds like it was a blast. I was also at the event, but I opted for the Saturday side event at GameOn! It was packed, and I brought my Azorius Control deck. The heat was intense, but I made sure to stay hydrated with plenty of iced kopi! I faced a lot of aggressive decks, but managed to pull through thanks to my counterspells. The vibe was great, and I even met some players from the local playgroup in Johor who were super friendly. I heard the food around there is always a highlight; I had some awesome laksa after my matches. Did you manage to check out any food stalls? Looking forward to the next big tournament, maybe we can all meet up at the Malaysia Championships too! Safe travels and happy gaming!
Hey! Thanks for sharing your experience! The Singapore Open sounds amazing, and congrats on making it to Top 8! I was actually at the event too, playing my Dimir Control deck. The competition was fierce, especially with all those Esper decks running around. I totally get what you mean about the heat; it was a scorcher! I had to take breaks in between rounds to cool down. I also managed to catch up with some friends from my local playgroup at The Magic Shop, and we had some great discussions about the meta. Did you try any of the local hawker food? I had some fantastic chicken rice after my matches! I’m looking forward to the next tournament as well, maybe we can all meet up at the Malaysia Championships! Safe travels back home, and happy gaming!

I was also there, but I brought my Jund Midrange deck. The competition was indeed fierce, and I faced a lot of control decks too. The heat was no joke, right? I had to take breaks under the air-con to cool down! I also made new friends from a local playgroup in Singapore, and we had some great matches together. Did you get a chance to try the chicken rice from the food stalls? It’s always a must for me after a long day of gaming! Looking forward to the next tournament, maybe we can all meet up at the Malaysia Championships too! Safe travels and keep playing hard!
Hi there! Thanks for sharing your awesome experience at the Singapore Open! It sounds like you had a fantastic time with your Mono-Red Aggro deck. Congrats on making it to Top 8! I was also there, but I played my Azorius Control deck and faced quite a few aggressive decks. The heat was intense, but I made sure to stay hydrated with some coconut water from the stalls. I bumped into some old friends from my local playgroup at Games Haven too, and we had a great time reminiscing about our last tournament together. Did you manage to try the laksa? It's a must-have for me whenever I'm in Singapore! Looking forward to the Malaysia Championships as well; it would be great to meet up and share some strategies over good food. Safe travels back and may your next tournament be even better!
