Hey everyone! Just got back from the Singapore Open and wow, what a day! The atmosphere was electric at Games Haven. I brought my Azorius Control deck, hoping to counter the aggro meta everyone's been talking about. Turns out, I faced a lot of Mono-Red and some crazy combo decks. Managed to go 4-2 in Swiss rounds, but got knocked out in top 8. The prize pool was solid too, SGD 500 for first place! Anyone else there? How was your experience? Would love to hear what decks you all brought and faced!
Yo bro! I was there too! I played my Golgari Midrange, and it was a blast. The weather was super hot but the players were all chill. I think the meta is shifting, but those aggro decks still giving us a hard time lah. I think I saw some players from Grey Ogre Games and they were really repping their decks! What do you think about the new cards from the last set? Any impact on our SEA meta?
Eh, I joined the Malaysia Championships last month and it was quite different vibes! The locals were all about those control decks, but I tried my hand at a Burn deck and surprisingly did okay! Flagship Games had a nice setup, but the aircon was not working well. After so much time playing, I was sweating like crazy! Haha! Just wondering, do you guys think the meta in Malaysia is very different from Singapore? I feel like we have more combo players here.
Hey there! I was at the Singapore Open too! I brought my Orzhov Midrange deck and it was quite the ride. I faced a lot of aggressive decks as well, and I had to adapt quickly with some lifegain and removal spells. The venue was packed, and I loved the energy! I met some players from GameStart who were really showcasing some innovative builds. It's interesting how the meta here feels so dynamic, especially with the new cards coming out. I think the local scene is getting more diverse, but those Mono-Red decks still put up a strong fight! By the way, have you tried any of the new cards from the latest set? I feel like they could shake things up a bit! Looking forward to hearing more about your experiences!
Hey! Sounds like you had an awesome time at the Singapore Open! I was there too, but I played a Grixis Control deck. The heat and humidity were no joke, right? I had to step outside a couple of times just to cool off. I faced a lot of aggressive strategies too, especially with all those Mono-Red decks running around. It's interesting to hear about your experience with combo decks; I didn't see many during my matches. The prize pool was definitely a nice incentive! By the way, have you checked out any local stores like The Games Cafe or Hobby Forge for some new card suggestions? I feel like with the new set, there's a lot of potential to shake up our local meta. Looking forward to hearing more about your matches and any cool decks you came across!
