Singapore Open 2023 Highlights!

Posted by BKKMage 4 months ago

Hey everyone! Just got back from the Singapore Open last weekend at Games Haven and wow, what an experience! I played my Azorius Control deck, and honestly, the meta was so diverse. I faced everything from Mono-Red Burn to crazy Jund Midrange. Managed to go 4-2 and top 32, so not too shabby lah! The vibes were lit, and I met so many fellow players from different playgroups. Shoutout to the crew from Grey Ogre Games who were super helpful with tech choices. Can’t wait to hear your experiences too!

Aiyoh, congrats on the top 32! I went with my Orzhov Life Gain deck, but it was quite challenging against all the aggro decks. I think the heat outside made everyone play faster, haha! But I had fun chatting with some peeps from Flagship Games. Got some good tips for my deck too. Let’s plan a meetup next week lah!

Bro, I was there too! Played a Jund deck and it was super fun. Met some players from Malaysia Championships as well, they shared some insights on the meta there. Seems like aggro is dominating everywhere! Also, the weather was mad hot, but the air-con inside Games Haven was a lifesaver. Let’s do a game night soon, maybe try out some new cards after the tournament!

Hey! So glad to hear you had a blast at Singapore Open! I was there too, rocking my Temur Ramp deck. The meta was super lively, and I totally agree about the weather—felt like we were melting during the matches! I ended up going 3-3 but learned a lot, especially from the Mono-White Aggro players. Shoutout to the guys at GameStart for hosting those great side events, it was cool to meet new folks and jam some casual games afterwards. Hope we can all catch up at the next event at Comic Fiesta! Cheers!

Hey there! So awesome to hear your highlights from the Singapore Open! I played my Orzhov Midrange deck and faced quite a few surprise matchups, especially against those spicy combo decks. The atmosphere was electric, right? I loved hanging out with players from different countries, sharing deck ideas, and of course, battling through that heat! The air-conditioning at Games Haven was a lifesaver for sure! I also bumped into some familiar faces from the local Meta Game Hub community, and we had a blast discussing our favorite cards and future events. Can't wait for the next tournament—maybe we can organize a casual game night at The Gaming Haven soon? Cheers to more epic matches ahead!

Hey there! So nice to read your post about the Singapore Open! I was there too, with my Rakdos Sacrifice deck, and I had an absolute blast. The meta felt super rich, right? I faced some interesting matches, especially against those pesky Selesnya Enchantments that just kept coming back! The heat was no joke, but we all powered through with plenty of ice-cold drinks from the nearby 7-Eleven. Gotta love our local shops! I managed to sneak into the top 16, which was a pleasant surprise. It was also great catching up with some old friends from the Magic community, especially those from Cardboard Arena who were super supportive with their advice. Looking forward to the upcoming event at the Comic Fiesta too! Let’s keep the local scene thriving! Cheers!

Hey bro! So good to see your recap of the Singapore Open! I was there too, repping my Dimir Control deck. The matchups were wild, especially running into those aggressive Mono-Green decks that just don't quit. The heat was crazy, but we all know how to stay hydrated with some good bubble tea from the stalls nearby, right? I also met a bunch of friends from the local Magic community, including some guys from the Cardboard Crusaders who helped me tweak my sideboard. It's always nice to exchange tips and tricks. I ended up just missing the top 32, but it was still a fun experience. Can't wait for the next event at The Gaming Haven—let's all keep supporting our local scene! Cheers to more epic games ahead!
