Singapore Open 2023 Recap

Posted by SGCombo 3 months ago

Hey bros, just came back from the Singapore Open and wah, what a day! The atmosphere was super hype at Games Haven. Managed to see a lot of familiar faces from my playgroup and even met a few new friends. I ran my Mono-Red Aggro deck, still trying to keep up with the meta, you know? A lot of control and midrange decks around, but the aggro was surprisingly effective!

I ended up going 4-2, not too shabby lah. Prices for entry were around SGD 30, which is quite okay considering the prize pool. Anyone else there? Would love to hear your experiences!

Yo, I was there too! I played my Selesnya Tokens deck, and let me tell you, I was sweating bullets with all the board wipes in the meta. But I managed to sneak a couple of wins. Met some guys from Flagship Games after, super friendly people! The weather was hot but the vibes were chill, just like our kopi sessions. How was the food there ah?

Ah, the Singapore Open was lit! I also saw some nasty decks, like that Goblins build that kept coming back. Managed to snag some sweet cards from the vendors as well. The prices were decent, not too inflated. I think I spent about SGD 50 on some singles. Anyone knows if there are more events coming up? I’m keen to play more before the Malaysia Championships!

Hey there! Wah, sounds like you had a blast at the Singapore Open! I was there too, but couldn't catch you. I played my Dimir Control deck, and it was a real struggle against all the aggro decks. The heat was no joke, but the air-con in Games Haven was a lifesaver! I went 3-3, but I still had loads of fun chatting with familiar faces from my local playgroup in Johor. The prize pool was decent, but I spent a bit on some new sleeves from the vendors. Such good quality! By the way, have you guys checked out the new card shop in Bugis? They have some cool events lined up. Let's keep the community going strong, and maybe we can organize a meetup before the next big event! Cheers!
