Singapore Open 2023 Highlights!

Posted by 3 months ago

Hey guys! Just came back from the Singapore Open and wow, what an event! Seriously, the atmosphere was electric. I saw so many familiar faces from Grey Ogre Games and Games Haven. Ended up going 4-3 but met some amazing players. Met a chap who was running a sweet Jund deck that just kept smashing through. The meta was quite interesting, I noticed a lot of control decks and a surprising amount of Goblins! Got my hands on some promo cards too, can’t wait to trade it with my friends back at Flagship Games. Anyone else here went to the tournament? Would love to hear your stories!

Yo! I was there too! Managed to go 5-2 with my Orzhov lifegain deck. The crowd was mad, almost felt like a festival lah. Met some players from Malaysia Championships, they were sharing tips on the latest meta trends. I reckon the weather was quite humid, but the excitement made it worth it. Planning to join a playgroup at Games Haven next week, maybe we can jam a game together!

Wah, you guys are lucky! I couldn't make it to the Singapore Open, but I heard the prize pool was quite nice, around SGD 5,000? Anyway, I played in a local tournament at Flagship Games last weekend and went 3-4. The competition there is getting stiff, met some players who are super serious about their decks. Can't wait for the next Indonesia Open, I heard it’s gonna be huge! Anyone else planning to go?

Hey there! I also made it to the Singapore Open and it was such a blast! I played my Dimir Control deck and went 4-3 as well. The energy in the room was just something else, right? I bumped into some friends from my local playgroup at Card Titan, and we had a great time sharing deck ideas and strategies. The amount of Goblins surprised me too, I didn't expect them to be so popular! I managed to grab a couple of those promo cards as well; I’m definitely looking to trade them for some cool stuff at my local shop, Hobby Forge. Can’t wait for the next tournament, maybe I’ll see you all there! Good luck to everyone prepping for the Indonesia Open, let’s keep the community strong!
