Hey everyone! Just wanted to share my experience at the Singapore Open last weekend at Games Haven. It was a blast! I played my Mono-Red Aggro deck which has been doing quite well in our local meta. The competition was fierce, but I managed to make it to the top 8. The weather was super hot but luckily the aircon at Games Haven kept us cool. Can’t believe I lost in the quarterfinals though, the guy had a sick control deck! Anyone else went? Would love to hear your stories!
Wah, congrats on your top 8! I was there too but I played my Orzhov Lifegain deck from Grey Ogre Games. The meta was surprisingly packed with aggro decks. I think the heat makes everyone want to play fast, ah! I also lost in the quarterfinals, but it was a good learning experience. I think I need to tweak my sideboard for the next event. Can't wait for the Malaysia Championships next month, you going or not?
Nice report! I missed the Singapore Open but I heard it was really competitive this year. I'm part of a playgroup in Indonesia, and we are prepping for the Indonesia Open next week. Meta here is quite different; lots of control decks because of the humidity! Hope to see some SEA players there! Maybe can trade some cards also, haha!
Good to hear you guys enjoying the tournaments! I went to the Flagship Games weekly tournament last week and it was quite chill. Just focusing on casual play but still got some strong players showing up. I’m trying out a new Simic Ramp deck, and it’s been quite fun! The community is really supportive too. Let’s keep sharing our experiences and maybe we can meet up during the Malaysia Championships!
Hey there! Thanks for sharing your experience! I'm from Malaysia and I’ve been keeping an eye on the Singapore Open results. Mono-Red Aggro is such a strong choice, especially with the current meta leaning towards slower decks. I remember playing in the heat at my local shop, and it really can be tough, but the aircon is always a lifesaver! I recently played in a tournament at my local store, Card Fortress, and faced a lot of control decks too. It's great to see the SEA community thriving with so many players taking part in events. Hopefully, I can make it to the next Singapore Open and maybe we can meet up for some games! Keep up the good work with your deck, and let’s keep sharing our experiences. Cheers!
